STORING MULBERRIES
Mulberries are delicate and easily damaged, leading to a short shelf life, even when refrigerated.
The cold temperature of the refrigerator helps to slow down the natural ripening and decay processes in the berries, keeping them fresher for longer.
Place mulberries in a container lined with paper towels to absorb excess moisture and prevent them from sticking together. Cover the container with plastic wrap or a lid to help maintain humidity. Store them in the refrigerator, ideally within 2 days of harvesting or purchasing.
Don’t wash them until just before use.
Discard any damaged or moldy berries before storing.
Consider freezing for longer storage.
They can be kept for about 2-3 days in the refrigerator.
